11 | 50 | GOMEZ, Ramon | The aim of this project is to implement a ground optical system in order to convey the TV L-Band satellite signal to home. Since today, the most common procedure to do that is throughout 75-ohm coaxial cable directly from the receiver antenna to the TV systems. However, this doesn't mean that the method is optimal, and actually is not, having a typical attenuation for 1GHz of around 15 dB/100m. In order to try to increase these performances, the proposal of this project is to substitute the coaxial by a monomode fiber link. This replacement will permit theoretically to set a link up to 10km with much better performances than in the coaxial. |
