Overview VC¶
A videophone is a telephone with a videao display, capable of simultaneous video and audio for communication between people in real-time. videophone service provided the first form of videotelephony for videoconference.
H.323 is a recommendation from the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) that defines the protocols to provide audio-visual communication sessions. The H.323 protocol was one of the first VoIP protocols that found widespread implementation for long-distance traffic. H.323 was the first VoIP standard to adopt the Internet Engineering Task Fprc (IETF) standard Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP)to transport audio and video over IP networks.
Our videophones function with the H.323 protocol.
The H.323 standard adresses call signaling and control, multimedia transport and control and bandwidth control for point-to-point and mmulti-point conferences.
